Wire Bite-In…

At the beginning of the season, I trunk chopped and wired the Japanese Maple, I was surprised to find that the wires have already bitten into the bark. I never had this issue with the black pine since it grows so much slower than the maple. From now on, I should be paying close attention to my wired trees to ensure the wires don’t bite into the bark. Hopefully the fast growing maple will also quickly require from this scarring.
